As I approach my 1 year anniversary of becoming a Beachbody Coach I told myself I was going to get REAL about a part of coaching that I hardly ever talk….. MONEY!!! I don’t like to talk about it because it’s not the most important aspect of why I do what I do, BUT I know it could be life changing for some people. How would an extra $500-$1,000 in your pocket every month sound to you? What if I told you I’m achieving this every month by dedicating 1-2 hrs a night, after the kiddos go to bed!
I have been blessed with a very good job and a husband that has a good job. We live a comfortable
lifestyle and don’t have to worry month to month about our bills getting paid. Now I know that is not the case for everyone out there and an extra $500 a month would be HUGE for their family. So I’m here to tell you that by sharing my health and fitness journey and helping others work toward their fitness goals, I’m making a solid monthly income. Since last month, I committed to putting all of my Beachbody earnings towards maxing out my Roth IRA for the year and I’m happy to report that I’m almost half way to that goal already! This is VERY important to me as I work towards securing my family’s financial future.

21 Day Fix-3 Day Quick Fix Results

Driving back from NY after New Year’s, Vince and I decided we wanted to do the 3 Day Quick Fix.  He wanted to drop some of the holiday weight he had put on and I just wanted to shock my system back into eating healthy and get rid of the bloat.  I had actually only gained ½ lb over the holidays and I attribute that to watching my portions and working out pretty regularly.  One thing I didn’t always do was eat healthy and I definitely had way more alcohol than normal   Come on it’s the holidays!!!  
It really is mind boggling how EASY the 3 Day Quick Fix is….yes I said EASY and it WORKS!!!! It’s easy because the program lays out exactly what you should be eating (all items you get at the grocery store) and when.  There’s no guessing at what you should be eating.  We prepped the majority of our meals on Sunday and could just grab them and go each day.  The first day is always rough as you shock your body into eating super healthy foods and at a caloric deficit but by day 2 and 3 you start feeling much better and I don’t get hungry in between meals.  I fully admit that by the end of Day 3 I’m ready for some different foods! 
Day 3 for us was yesterday and we did our final weigh ins this morning.  Vince lost 7 lbs and I lost 5!!!!  That was 5 lbs of BLOAT.  I feel soooo much BETTER and I’m back on track to eating healthy and drinking plenty of water.  The 3 Day Quick Fix is not something you’d want to do all the time or for more than 3 days but it’s such a GREAT tool to have in your back pocket when you come off a weekend of too much drinking/eating or you have a big event you want to look and feel great at!!

21 Day Fix Extreme Results

I just finished up my 3 week 21 Day Fix Accountability group, which means results time!!!! I tried the Extreme version and LOVED it! I was nervous to try it at first because I thought it might be too tough for me but I'm so glad I did! I LOVED it and I think it was just what my body was needing (taking it to the next level).

The workouts were definitely challenging but as always, there was a modifier I could follow if I got tired. I continued to follow the eating plan as best I could while navigating the parties and business trips. The one thing I keep coming back to with this program is how it's taught me to eat the right amount of the right foods. Even if I'm eating out a lot, I know when I've eaten enough and what the right ratio of carbs/proteins/veggies/fruits/fats I should be eating.

So during a time when most people gain weight, I managed to LOSE 3 lbs and a couple inches! I'm so pumped and can't wait to start my next Accountability group, not to lose weight but to maintain the body I have now worked so hard to get! My 6 Month Weight Loss Journey

It’s hard to believe it’s been 6 short months since I started my weight loss journey after having Jack.  At 6 weeks post-partum I weighted 170 lbs (20 lbs over where I normally sat) and the scale wasn’t budging.  I knew I needed to make a change so I look a leap of faith and joined my first online Accountability group.  This Accountability group was amazing!!!!  Everyone was so supportive, encouraging and I learned some great eating tips from my coach.  It was a place where I could share my struggles and just be myself.  I lost 13 lbs in that 8 week Accountability group.  

I didn’t want to stop there so I became an Online Health and Fitness Coach myself and began running my own online Accountability groups.  These are groups where both men and women (but mainly women) support and encourage each other to be the best they can possibly be.  If someone isn’t feeling motivated to get their workout in, we help lift them up.  We share healthy recipes and encourage each other to eat clean and watch their portion sizes.  

These Accountability groups are the main reason I have lost not just the 20 lbs but 30 lbs of baby weight!  Here are a few other reasons why I think the weight has melted off this time around: 

  • *I’ve done 95% of the workouts in whatever program I’m doing (PiYO, 21 Day Fix or T-25) and I follow the schedule they give me.
  • *90% of the time I’m following the eating plan that comes with the program I’m doing (for T-25 I continued the 21 Day Fix eating plan).  The other 10% I enjoy our family pizza nights and other treats.
  • *I drink Shakeology (super healthy meal replacement shake) EVERY morning for breakfast. It’s by far the healthiest meal I eat every day. 
  • *Before I start a new workout program I take before pictures.  This helps keep me motivated on days when I don’t feel like working out.  It also serves as a reminder of how far I’ve come when the scale isn’t budging.
  • *I feel INCREDIBLE both mentally and physically so I WANT to keep working out and eating healthy!

T-25 Focus workout results.

My T-25 Results are in! 

So this is the follow up to my 30 day progress doing T-25 Focus with Shaun-T.  I’m super excited to share my final results with you because I was somewhat shocked by them.   Just a little background information on T-25 and then I’ll share my results.  

T-25 is a 10 week program consisting of 5 weeks doing the “alpha” cycle and 5 weeks doing the “beta” cycle.  The alpha cycle builds your base so that when you move to beta you are set up for success!  In alpha, you don’t use any weights, just your own body weight. Once you get to beta you start incorporating weights into a couple of the workouts (I use 10 lb weights).  Alpha and beta each have their own workouts so you are getting a whole new set of workouts when you transition to beta.  Then, if you are really feeling great at the end of beta, you can buy “gamma” separately and do that program and that takes everything to a whole new level!
Why I love T-25 so much:
·       It’s only 25 minutes long!
·       It’s 25 minutes of non-stop movement.  You aren’t going for a minute and then resting for 15 secs, you are constantly moving.
·       You get a whole new set of workouts when you move to beta cycle.
·       You are only working out 5 days a week.  I love having my weekends off.
·       No matter what workout you are doing, you are going to get 
      a great cardio and strength workout. 
·       I find Shaun-T really inspiring and easy to look at :)

What you’ve all been waiting for………I lost 6 lbs and 3 inches doing T-25!!!!!! I can, without a doubt, say that my abs now look better than they did before I had my 2 kids!!!  In my 5 month journey thus far I have lost over 28 lbs and 16 inches.   If you are interested in trying out T-25, go to the top of my blog and select “Fitness Programs” and click on the T-25 picture.  



Chocolate Shakeology Oatmeal

Ingredients:

3/4 Cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 Cup nonfat plain yogurt
2/3 Cup unsweetened almond milk
1 Cup old fashioned oats
1 Scoop Chocolate Shakeology (substitute-1 T chocolate pudding mix or cocoa powder)

Directions: 
  1. In a small bowl, combine the peanut butter and vanilla extract. Microwave for 15 seconds, stir and microwave for an additional 15 seconds.
  2. Add in the yogurt, milk, oats and Chocolate Shakeology.
  3. Stir well and make sure the peanut butter is mashed in thoroughly.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a sealed container.
  5. Place in the fridge for at least an hour or until oats are completely softened.

Turkey Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients
  • 4 Green bell peppers
  • 1 lb 93% lean ground turkey
  • 1 Can fire-roasted tomatoes
  • 1 Can of black beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Medium sized yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 Cup cooked brown rice
  • 1 Cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1 T each ground cumin, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, italian seasoning
  • 1 T tabasco (more or less to taste)
  • ½ tsp salt (optional)

 Directions
  1. Cook rice according to package instructions.
  2. In a skillet with a little olive oil, sauté onion and garlic until tender. Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. In same skillet, brown ground turkey.
  4. Meanwhile, chop the tops off bell peppers and remove the seeds inside.
  5. Place peppers on a microwave safe plate and cook in microwave for 3-4 mins to soften.
  6. Open can of tomatoes and separate the tomatoes from the sauce it’s in.  Save the juice and spread it on the bottom of a small baking dish.
  7. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, sautéed onions/garlic, cooked rice, black beans, diced tomatoes, tabasco, and seasoning. Mix well.
  8. Place the peppers in your baking dish and fill each pepper with mixture. Top with the shredded cheddar cheese and sprinkle paprika on top.
  9. Bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes.  For the last 5 mins place under the broiler to brown the cheese.
